Good evening!

Well, this has been a high-stakes season for sure! Can you feel it? There is so much going on around us. We’re in a final push, if you will, and let me tell you, it’s been very tough and exciting all at once.

With very few exceptions, the Lord titles the messages He gives me to release. And, this title makes me laugh. Perhaps it can be a tagline of sorts for the intercessors! Somehow, it makes all of those battle wounds seem so very insignificant in light of Who He Is and the honor of being allowed to serve Him. He is worthy, and those we fight to protect are worth it!

While the Lord has been speaking so much this month, He’s told me to remain silent for a while here. It’s as though He’s allowing things to percolate before the HOLY EXPLOSION of His power! Come, Lord Jesus, come. We are desperate for You, and You alone!

INTERCESSORS.

WE TAKE THE HIT SO YOU DON’T HAVE TO

Monday March 27, 2023

If you’ve ever been around small children, you can imagine the familiar scene:

A toddler is wailing uncontrollably, when something suddenly catches his eye and draws him away from the horrible grievance at hand. The hollering becomes silent as the tears give way to a smile and gentle laugh. The perspective has changed and, in fact, he doesn’t even remember what made him cry in the first place!

Such was the case for me this evening as the Lord spoke this first line to me during a time of intense and grueling travail in prayer on my office floor. For those who are at the front of the battle, who have fought off the relentless assaults in this hour, who have felt the pain in your bodies, who have sensed the crushing from every side, who have been met with resistance at every turn – the Lord is encouraging you as to why you are fighting!

It is such an honor to serve Him, to pierce through the darkness, and to protect the Body! For those not at the very front, use this to be aware and to know how to encourage and pray for those who are standing in the gap so that you can move forward in victory.

“You take the hits, so they don’t have to.

For those on the frontlines, the travail has been great. The birth pains are at their worst. The onslaught has been relentless. The enemy would desire to have you give up, to lay down and die, or just to walk away from the battle and console yourselves with fleshly things. But you pursue and persist because YOU KNOW THE JOY THAT LIES AHEAD FOR THE CHURCH!

The birthing is hard. Were it not for My Word which you have believed, and hung onto, and proclaimed aloud, you would throw in the towel. But My Word burns in you and you cannot relent! My passion within you is fierce! I have placed My heart and burden heavily upon you to cry the tears, to breathe intently, and to fight through the pain. I have placed My fire in you to pierce through the darkness. Push! Push through the barrier for My people!

Many of you who think you’re at the frontlines are not quite there. No, you who are dancing and rejoicing and skating along to victory must know and understand that there are My warriors standing in front of you and taking the hits for you. They are My shields and My offensive arrows. They are My intercessors and prophets and warriors. They are the unseen ones who seldom get any glory or concern, but it would be good for you to pray for them in this hour as they fight for you.

They protect My pastors and leaders from the fiery darts, and they keep the altar holy in your churches. They cover the weak ones with a blanket of grace and prayer. They stain the carpet with their tears and fight off the strong man before he ever reaches your house or your family. Their labor pains are crushing right now, so lift them up, as they lift you up.

You will soon all rejoice together, My beloved!”

7“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. 8We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— 10always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. 11For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. 12So then death is working in us, but life in you.”

-II Corinthians 4:7-12, NKJV
