A SEASON OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Word from January 18, 2024 | Originally released by Truth-Justice-Mercy on May 9, 2024
Good afternoon!
I’ve been holding onto this word since January. It is wonderful, and it is terrifying, all at the same time. I will generally feel the sheer joy of a message initially. But, as time wears on, I begin to feel its gravity, as the fear of the Lord sets in. Over a series of prayer meetings a while back, He’d impressed upon me the question of, “Who can stand?” When His glory is poured out upon the Church, who really will be able to stand? So, I knew it was time to start looking at this message again. I got it all proofed and ready to release a month ago. But, somewhere around the 75th and final edit (lol), conviction fell on me in such a strong way.
“I struck Ananias and Sapphira DEAD!!”
Wumph!! The weight with which this hit me was so intense. The Lord then proceeded to walk through my entire adult life with a fine-tooth comb, looking at each and every shred of misrepresentation and impure motives. Ugh. From there, He moved on to examples I’d seen on display in His Church. Double ugh. Of course, this led to weeks of studying and chewing on multiple equally convicting and weighty Old Testament passages, each with the accompanying intensive heart-scrutiny. Ugh, ugh, ugh. Folks, we are REALLY good at deceiving ourselves… and others. Jeremiah 17:9-10 comes to mind! But, sitting in the presence of the Lord and allowing Him to bring all of that junk to the surface to be dealt with is such a beautiful thing. Search my heart, O God!
Perhaps He’ll have me write more about those deeper studies at another time. But, for now, I feel the need to finally put this message out. It is for the moment we are in. Don’t blow through it. Our Father is serious about holiness, and this is not a season for His Bride to take it lightly. His glory is being poured out, but that doesn’t necessarily mean all fun and happy times, and we absolutely need to prepare our hearts.
So with that, I’ll begin by simply sharing the passage corresponding to Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5, followed by what the Lord spoke to me back in January.
Blessings to you all,
-Lana
Acts 5:1-11, NASB
Peter said, ‘Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back some of the proceeds of the land? While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not under your control? Why is it that you have conceived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to men, but to God.’ And as he heard these words, Ananias collapsed and died; and great fear came over all who heard about it. The young men got up and covered him up, and after carrying him out, they buried him.
Now an interval of about three hours elapsed, and his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. And Peter responded to her, ‘Tell me whether you sold the land for this price?’ And she said, ‘Yes, for that price.’ Then Peter said to her, ‘Why is it that you have agreed together to put the Spirit of the Lord to the test? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out as well.’ And immediately she collapsed at his feet and died; and the young men came in and found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her beside her husband. And great fear came over the whole church, and over all who heard about these things.”
A SEASON OF ANANIAS AND SAPPHIRA
A SEASON OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Thursday January 18, 2024
“It is a season of accountability. This is the season of Ananias and Sapphira.
The lies that have been spoken to My Spirit will be dealt with. I am bringing judgment to My Church; I am bringing judgment to the House of the LORD. I am bringing promotions, and I am bringing exposures. I am lifting up and setting down.
The fear of the LORD is coming strongly upon the land and upon My Church, and the only way to avoid the sheer terror of it all is to fall on your faces before Me and allow the weight of My glory to fall on you and envelop you like a blanket.
‘Who can stand?
Who can stand?
Who can stand?’
He who has clean hands and a pure heart and has not lifted himself up to idols.
A false way, pretentious lips, and a religious spirit will not stand.
My glory will fall in ways you have not known before, and the power of My presence will sift out all that does not belong. Those who hunger and thirst for righteousness will be filled.
‘But, who can stand?’
Only he who has clean hands and a pure heart; who longs for My approaching; who longs for justice; who longs for truth to be exposed.
It will be a year of exposures. Great and mighty deeds of the LORD God you will see, and great and mighty men will fall, like mountains into the sea.
Get ready, My people.
For, I will lift up…
MY GREAT NAME!”
“The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein, for He has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers.
Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? And who shall stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully. He will receive blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of his salvation. Such is the generation of those who seek Him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob.
Selah.”
-Psalm 24:1-6, ESV
