Good evening!
The Lord gave me a few seemingly unrelated and unfinished things on the morning of August 6th, and then had me hold them back. While going through my notebook today, I felt that these were meant to be released, as is, for tonight... Yom Kippur.
Yom Kippur, or the Day of Atonement, is the holiest of days in the Jewish calendar. This is when the priest would enter through the veil to stand before the Mercy Seat in the Holy of Holies. There would be a bull sacrificed for his own sin and that of his family and a goat sacrificed for the sins of the people. A second goat was used as the scapegoat. The priest would lay both hands on its head, confessing the sins of the Israelites in an act of transference. That goat would then carry the sins of the people far away from the camp—and God’s presence—as it was taken deep into the wilderness (see Leviticus 16).
We rejoice that Jesus is the final completion of that sacrifice, and that we can now go directly before the Mercy Seat! As we reflect on what He has done and prepare our hearts before Him, we wait expectantly to see His Mighty hand move over all this earth!

A FEW THINGS FOR YOM KIPPUR
Saturday August 6, 2022
This was spoken to me on repeat as I was awaking early this morning:
“Who may ascend to the hill of the Lord?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart.”
As I heard the words, I saw a group of people on a journey. They were ascending stone stairs connected to a rock wall.
A short while later, a line from a song began playing on repeat in my heart. While it’s a song I’ve only sung once or twice in the past, today the words were most emphatic:
“This is the sound of dead bones rattling…
This is the sound of dead bones rattling…
This is the sound of dead bones rattling…”
As I looked up the passage it is based on (Ezekiel 37 – The Valley of Dry Bones), I felt the Lord also direct me to read the chapter before. I encourage you to read both Ezekiel 36 and 37, if you have time. But these are the verses that He told me to write down and share about what He is doing again, right now in His world. It is for the sake of HIS HOLY NAME that He is moving.
“Therefore, say to the house of Israel, ‘This is what the Lord God says: It is not for your sake that I will act, house of Israel, but for My holy name, which you profaned among the nations where you went.
I will honor the holiness of My great name, which has been profaned among the nations—the name you have profaned among them. The nations will know that I am the Lord—this is the declaration of the Lord God—when I demonstrate My holiness through you in their sight.”
-Ezekiel 36:22-23, CSB
Hallelujah!
Father, we worship Your Holy Name, and we prepare our hearts before You! We thank You for the Blood of Jesus Christ that covers us and cleanses us from all unrighteousness. We thank You that You have taken away our sin. We thank You that we can stand in Your presence.
And, oh how we long to see Your Great Name magnified in all the earth, despite all we may have done to malign it. We long to see life spring from dead bones.
It is for Your glory, and Your glory alone!
3"Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?
And who shall stand in His holy place?
4He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not lift up his soul to what is false
and does not swear deceitfully.
5He will receive blessing from the Lord
and righteousness from the God of His salvation.
6Such is the generation of those who seek Him,
who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Selah"
-Psalm 24:3-6, ESV
